I am taking a break over the holidays. I'll be back on the 5. January. All orders will be fulfilled then! Happy holidays and a happy new year :)

Koh-i-Noor 1860 2B

0,42

The 1860 is a surprising pencil. It features golden stamping on a light grey varnish and a black dipped endcap. The varnished used on this pencil has a matte and rubbery finish to it which gives the 1860 a good grip. Despite the rather premium exterior the 1860 comes in at an incredibly affordable price. As even Koh-I-Noor can’t do magic they unfortunately had to save on the wood they used for this pencil. It feels really lightweight and can only be sharpened to a rough finish. Well, don’t click away just yet! The core is solid and has great point retention. The graphite feels more like a HB – yes HB. My guess is that they had to make up for the wood by increasing the core’s rigidity. So – if you are looking for a cheap staple that you wouldn’t mind bringing to the office or school (we are talking about the classic theft-issue), this might be what you are looking for. This won’t hurt you when it gets lost, but still a pleasure to look at with a great core.

The 1860 comes pre-sharpened.
