Being part of Viarco’s vintage collection, this pencil is inspired by old archive stock from Viarco’s haydays in the 1940-160s. They are manufactured using Viarco’s old machines and techniques in their factory that dates back to the beginnings of the company in the early 20th century. The 1950 is a classic HB pencil (graded as a No.2). It feels true to grade. The orange barrel has golden foil stamping on it. It’s simplicity takes you right back to mid-century Europe. I particularly love the old fashioned box they come in that features a latch you don’t really see anymore in packaging these days.
The 1950 is sold as box containing 12 pencils.
P.S.: “1950” is also the name of a song by King Princess – get yourself some 1950s, listen to 1950 and you’re all set to write a love letter to your loved one 😉
